Programe in detail

Discover the Angkor site in one day with an official English-speaking guide

In the morning, you can enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before starting the tour.
English-speaking guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel at 8am. Before starting the tour, they will first take you to the counter where you can buy your Angkor pass. The process of purchasing the Angkor pass is simple and quick.

The starting point is Ta Prohm, it is a temple where the roots of trees have invaded the roofs and galleries of the temple. Ta Prohm is one of the most atmospheric Buddhist temples in Angkor. It was built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. The Hollywood blockbuster “Tomb Raider” (with the participation of Angelina Jolie) made this temple famous. Once you arrive at the site, you will be surprised by the unique atmosphere created by the Angkorian temples half covered with large tree roots and vegetation.

Then, you will continue the visit to the Bayon temple which is located in the center of the ancient city of Angkor Thom, it was the last capital of the Khmer empire under the reign of King Jayavarman VII. This ancient city is surrounded by city walls 7 meters high and 3 km long on each side, forming a perfect square. Bayon, the state temple of King Jayavarman VII dating from 1181, is one of the most mysterious temples on the Angkor site. You will visit its magnificently sculpted central towers which cover large mysterious stone faces oriented towards the four cardinal points. Leaving Bayon, you will visit the Elephant Terrace. Then, you will continue to the Baphoun temple, which is one of the largest temples in the city of Angkor Thom after the Bayon temple. The main attraction of Baphoun man-made temple dating from 11th century is a beautiful third level view and a large reclining Buddha (70m long and 7m high) which is located towards the west side.

Near the temple of Baphoun, you will visit a small pyramidal temple dating from the 10th century, which is located inside the former Royal Palace, is the temple of Phimeanakas, “literally “heavenly palace”. Built by King Rajendravarman and dedicated to the Hindu god, this small temple was once covered in golden towers. In the afternoon you will take a break for lunch. The guide will recommend a nice restaurant on site in Angkor Park.

After the meal and a moment of rest, you end your visit with a temple which is the largest and most impressive temple in the Angkor park, the Angkor temple. Originally built as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century and then transformed into a Buddhist temple, Angkor is considered the largest religious monument in the world. Once you arrive at the site, you will be surprised by the majesty and beauty of its impressive architecture. You will visit the epic scenes on the temple walls with our French guide. Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1992, Angkor is the symbol of the country and the 3 towers of this temple are featured on the current flag of Cambodia.

Return to your hotel late in the afternoon.
