Program Outline

Two-day tour will allow you to visit the main temples in small and big cycle of archaeological park. You will visite Tomb Raider temple “Ta Prohm”, the most famous Angkor Wat and others temples like: Bayon, elephant terrace, Baphoun, Pre Rup Neak Pean, Preah Khan.

Day 1 : Visite the main temple of small tour, Ta Proh, Bayon and Angkor Wat

In the morning you can enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before starting the tour. Our English speaking guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel at 8am. Before starting the tour, they will first take you to the ticket counter where you can buy your Angkor Pass. The process of purchasing the Angkor Pass is very simple and quick.

The starting point is Ta Prohm, a temple where the roots of trees have invaded the roofs and galleries of the temple. Ta Prohm is one of the most atmospheric Buddhist temples in the Angkor Park. This temple was built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. The Hollywood film “Tomb Raider” (starring Angelina Jolie) made this temple famous. When you arrive at the temple, you will be surprised by the unique atmosphere created by the ancient temple, which is half covered with large tree roots.

After the first temple, you will continue your visit to the Bayon Temple, which is located in the centre of the ancient city of Angkor Thom. This huge temple was the last capital of the Khmer Empire under the reign of King Jayavarman VII. This ancient city is surrounded by a great wall, 7 metres high and 3 km long on each side, forming a perfect square. Bayon is one of the most amazing state temples of King Jayavarman VII built in Angkor, it consisted of many towers with large mysterious stone portals facing the four cardinal points. After Bayon you will visit the Elephant Terrace and Baphoun Temple, one of the largest Hindu mountain temples in Angkor Thom near Bayon. The main attraction of the 11th century Baphoun is the third level view and a large reclining Buddha (70m long and 7m high) located on the west side. A small 10th century pyramidal temple called ‘Phimeanakas’, built by King Rajendravaman and dedicated to the Hindu god, is located inside the ancient Royal Palace on the left side of the Baphoun temple. You will take a break for lunch, our guide will recommend you a simple local restaurant.

Originally built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire and then converted into a Buddhist temple, Angkor is considered to be the largest religious monument in the world. On arrival, you will be struck by the majesty and beauty of its stunning architecture. Visit the epic scenes on the temple walls with our experienced guide. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992, Angkor is the symbol of the country and the 3 towers of this temple are featured on the current Cambodian flag. Return to your hotel after the visit.

Day 2: Visit floating village and the main temple of big tour

Le matin, après profiter de votre petit déjeuner à l’hôtel, guide francophone et chauffeur viennent vous récupérer à l’hôtel à 8h du matin. Vous visiterez le plus grande réserve d’eau douce d’Asie du Sud-Est, les villages lacustres pittoresques du Tonlé Sap, se trouve vers 45 km au South de Siem Reap. Vous prendrez un bateau privé pour visiter la vie courent du Cambodgien sur l’eau, les pêcheurs et les paysages de la mangrove. Les habitants se déplacent en bateau sur le lac pendant la saison de pluie, les enfants vont à l’école en bateau, les femmes vendent les gâteau et les légumes sur leurs petits bateaux. Promenade à travers les passerelles du village de pécheurs juché sur d’immenses pilotis. Les maisons sur d’immenses pilotis de 6 à 7 mètres de hauteur. Les gens vivent autour du lac et la majeure partie d’entre eux gagnent leur vie grâce à la pêche et aussi de l’agriculture, dans des maisons flottantes, et toutes les activités tournent autour de la pêche. Tonlé Sap est le lac qui peut nourricier de plus de la moitié de la population Cambodgienne.

L’après-midi: déjeuner dans un restaurant Cambodgien
Après le repas et un moment de repos, vous continuerez l’exploration de l’ancienne capitale de l’empire Khmer, qui a régné sur une très vaste zone comprenant l’actuel Cambodge, la Thaïlande, le Laos et une vaste partie du Vietnam, au 13ème siècle. Vous découvrirez des temples dans le grand circuit. Vous visiterez le temple de Pré Rup daté de 10ème siècle, avant d’atteindre le Mébon oriental (une ancienne ville, dont il ne reste que le temple principal, entouré d’un réservoir d’eau), vous passerez le long de Ta Som (un temple recouvert par la végétation), ensuite continuez au temple de de Neak Pean appelé aussi naga enroulé. Construit au 12ème siècle, Neak Pean dispose d’un sanctuaire situé au milieu d’un basin artificiel. Le lac a été fait pour être une réplique du lac sacré d’Anavatapta, situé dans l’Himalaya tibétain.

Vous continuerez la visite le plus grande temple du grand circuit nommé Preah Khan, appelé aussi “épée sacré”. Preah Khan était autre fois un monastère des moines et une université bouddhiste. Vous pourrez admirer les magnifiques sculptures qui décorent les anciens murs du temple.

We would like to inform you that Angkor archeological park is so big. Two days tour can only visite the main temples in small and big cycle. We need to spend at less 4 to 5 days to visit the main temples including the others remote sites such as Beng Mealea, Kbal Spean, Koh Ker, Phnom Kulen and floating villages.
